Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) continued Tuesday, April 25, 2023, to tighten their military measures at the Al-Hamra checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valley, for the 18th day in a row.
Israeli forces set up the Hamra military checkpoint at a crossroads linking the cities of the West Bank with the central, southern and northern Jordan Valley.
Local sources reported that the occupation soldiers at the Al-Hamra checkpoint stopped Palestinian citizens’ vehicles, searched them thoroughly, and checked their identity cards, which impeded their access to their places of work and farms.
It is noteworthy that the occupation forces closed Sahl Atouf with dirt roads more than two weeks ago, which is a way for farmers to reach their lands east of Street (60) in the Jordan Valley.
For 18 days, the occupation authorities have imposed a comprehensive siege on the Jordan Valley, closing most of the roads leading to communities and agricultural lands, in addition to tightening military measures at Hamra and Tayaseer military checkpoints and impeding the movement of citizens and farmers.
Tensions have escalated between Palestinian citizens and Israeli occupation forces amid intensified Israeli deadly military raids in occupied Palestinian territories, the latest was on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
