Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) forced Sunday, May 14, 2023, a Palestinian citizen to self-demolish a residential room in his family’s home in the town of Jabal Mukaber in occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces forced the Jerusalemite Qusay Al-Sarkhi to self-demolish a room in his family’s house, under the pretext of not having a permit.

According to the Sarkhi family, they confirmed they received the decision to demolish the room from the occupation municipality two years ago, as they built it as their son Qusay is waiting for his firstborn.

Qusai’s mother explained that the family demanded to freeze the demolition decision more than once, along with paying heavy fines, but the occupation court notified them of the final decision of the self-demolition order, otherwise, bearing the costs of the demolition process.

It’s worth mentioning that the occupation forces demolished the cattle barns of the same family and razed the adjacent land, last Wednesday.

Israeli occupation authorities issued 5820 demolition orders against Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank since 2015, according to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
