Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) forced Tuesday, June 6, 2023, 5 Jerusalemite families to self-demolish two buildings consisting of five housing units in the Wadi Qaddum neighborhood in the Silwan town of occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that the Palestinian families of Burqan, Al-Taweel, and Nassar, proceeded to demolish the two buildings after receiving a demolition notice, in addition to paying a heavy fine of 200,000 shekels, forcing them to demolish them themselves.
The Israeli occupation municipality continuously targets the homes and facilities of Jerusalemites and does not allow them to build or expand in Arab neighborhoods, claiming that they do not obtain building permits.
Israeli occupation authorities issued 5820 demolition orders against Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank since 2015, according to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
