DaysofPal — The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out widespread overnight raids across the occupied West Bank early Tuesday, detaining around 40 Palestinians and subjecting dozens more to on-the-spot “field interrogations,” according to Palestinian media and local sources.
Homes were searched and, in some cases, residents were forced outside as buildings were used as temporary military posts, with the heaviest activity reported in the Qalqilya and Nablus areas.
North of Hebron, in Beit Ummar, troops detained multiple residents and conducted field interrogations.
For example, Mohammad al-Ja’ar was arrested and his vehicle seized, according to local accounts. Additional pre-dawn incursions were reported in Dura and the al-Zuwaidin area of the Hebron district.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said six men were arrested in Mirka, south of Jenin, following home raids: Mohammad Tayseer Mousa, Khalil Tayseer Mousa, Munir Tayseer Mousa, Mustafa Tayseer al Sakhin, Ahmad Yaser Mousa and Ahmad Suleiman Mousa. In the Jenin area, Murad Tawalbeh was detained after a building was stormed near the Arab American University in Zababdeh, and Aboud al Saadi was arrested during a raid on Jabal Abu Dhuheir.
In Ramallah, IOF raided the home of Maj. Gen. Omar Abu Hashiyah, arresting his son Basel Abu Hashiyah, an officer in the Preventive Security. Troops also demanded that his other son, Jad, turn himself in, according to Palestinian sources. A separate raid was reported in the al Masaif neighborhood.
In Tulkarem governorate, Taqi Mousa was detained following a raid on his family home in Izbat Shufa, south of Tulkarem.
In Jericho and the Aqbat Jabr refugee camp, detainees included Fatah’s Jericho governorate secretary Nael Abu al Asal and the secretary of the camp’s organizational area, Nassar Abu Dahouk. Others named by local sources were Thaer Shahin, Ali Raslan, Mohammad Nazif, Nabil Duwidar, Mahmoud al Walji, Mousa al Kalouni, Rami al Kalouni and Ahmad Fathi Awadat.
In Nablus, the IOF stormed a residential building on Amman Street, forced residents out and turned the premises into a temporary military position. At the same time, armored vehicles entered the New Askar refugee camp on the city’s eastern side.
