Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) detained Saturday, February 5, 2023 the Palestinian prisoner, Alaa Buhais, from the city of Yatta, the moment he was released from Rimon prison after 21 years inside Israeli jails.
It is noteworthy that IOF escalated using the policy of detaining Palestinian prisoners immediately after their release after it was strictly limited to Jerusalemite prisoners.
IOF first detained Buhais in 2002, that he had obtained a bachelor’s degree while he was in detention and used to be held in the “Negev Desert” Israeli jail.
There are 4,500 Palestinians currently detained inside Israeli occupation prisons, including 400 who have severe and chronic illnesses, 31 women, and 500 administrative detainees.
