Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees affairs revealed that Israeli occupation forces have detained about 77 Palestinians in Gaza since the start of 2022.
In a statement, the head of the research and data department in the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ Affairs Abdel Nasser Farwana stated that 77 Palestinians from Gaza Strip have been detained since the start of 2022.
Farwana added that a number of Palestinians were detained while passing the Erez crossing, and others while assuming fishing off Gaza Shore.
According to the statement, most of the detainees were arrested after they crossed the eastern and northern borders of the Gaza Strip in an attempt to reach the 1948-occupied lands.
Palestinians in Gaza Strip have been living under an Israeli air, land, and sea blockade. Israeli occupation authorities restrict the movement of Gaza residents, illegally depriving them of their most basic rights.
About 4650 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, according to recent reports by the Palestinian Prisoners Club.
