Under the claim of building without a permit, Israeli occupation forces demolished Wednesday, May 24, 2023, a Palestinian home in the Jabal Al-Mukabber town in occupied Jerusalem.
Israeli troops reportedly stormed the Al-Sal’a neighbourhood in the Jabal Al-Mukabber town and demolished the house of the Jeruslaemite Husam Obaidat.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said that IOF besieged the house, kicked its inhabitants out, and didn’t allow them even to evacuate all its content. Then, Israeli military vehicles started demolishing it.
The Jerusalemite Husam Obaidat built his house, in which five Palestinians live, in the Al-Sal’a neighbourhood six months ago.
Regularly, Israeli occupation forces carry out demolitions against Palestinian homes and structures in the occupied West Bank under the pretext of building without a permit, displacing Palestinian families from their own homelands.
Over the past two weeks, Israeli occupation forces have demolished 42 Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, which resulted in displacing 50 Palestinians, including 23 children, according to a recent periodic report by OCHA.
So far in 2023, Israeli occupation forces have demolished 299 Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, OCHA reported.
According to the Palestinian Commission of Colonization and Wall Resistance, Israeli occupation courts have issued 5820 demolition orders against Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank since 2015.
