Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have demolished Wednesday, May 17, 2023, a Palestinian house in Silwan town in occupied Jerusalem.

Local Palestinian sources reported that Israeli troops destroyed a residential building housing 50 Palestinian citizens in the Wad Qaddoum neighbourhood in Silwan under the pretext of having no building permit.

The Israeli forces reportedly besieged the building belonging to the Palestinian Al-Husaini family, closed the roads to it, and started demolishing it.

in 2018, Israeli occupation forces handed the Al-Husaini family an order to evacuate the house to demolish it later.

According to the family, the house has been built for 40 years, and they bought it 17 years ago. Then, they built more apartments.

The family received the demolition order from the Israeli occupation years ago and managed to delay it many times.

Regularly, Israeli occupation forces carry out demolitions against Palestinian homes and structures in the occupied West Bank under the pretext of building without a permit, displacing Palestinian families from their own homelands.

So far in 2023, Israeli occupation forces have demolished 299 Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, OCHA reported.

According to the Palestinian Commission of Colonization and Wall Resistance, Israeli occupation courts have issued 5820 demolition orders against Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank since 2015.
