B.M | DOP -

Israeli occupation forces IOF on Monday morning, September 19, 2022, carried out extensive demolitions in the occupied West Bank city of Jericho, demolishing about twenty Palestinian structures.

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces demolished 20 residential and agricultural structures in the areas of Al-Auja, Al-Dyouk, and Arab Al-Rashaida in occupied Jericho.

According to Hassan Mleihat, General-Supervisor of Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, Israeli occupation forces demolished three Palestinian-owned houses owned by the Al-Rashaida family, northwest of Jericho.

Activist Mleihat added that the ethnic cleansing and mass displacement practiced against the Palestinian Bedouins is a flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian conventions and norms.

In addition, he called on the governmental and international human rights institutions to take their role in defending these marginalized groups and to provide all possible means to support their steadfastness.

In a related incident, Israeli occupation forces raided Al-Auja village, north of Jericho, demolished, and confiscated 12 Palestinian tents used for agricultural purposes.

Meanwhile, the Israeli forces demolished two Palestinian houses in addition to a fence surrounding land of 20 acres.

In the Al-Dyouk area, the Israeli occupation forces demolished 4 structures owned by the Palestinian family of Al-Kharabeesh, on the pretext that construction is prohibited in the area.

So far in 2022, Israeli occupation forces have demolished at least 300 Palestinian-owned houses in the West Bank and Jerusalem, most of which were demolished under the pretext of building without permits
