DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have been conducting an ethnic cleansing campaign against Palestinian civilians in the northern Gaza Strip for 16 consecutive days, where over 400,000 residents are still living.
The IOF declared on October 3 a new military campaign, the third targeting the northern Gaza Strip, with a particular focus on Jabalia camp, which is heavily populated with displaced people.
Since then, more than 550 civilians, most of them women and children, have been killed by Israeli bombardment on the region.
The most recent Israeli atrocity against Palestinian civilians in the northern Gaza Strip occurred last night when the IOF committed a massacre in the Beit Lahia city where Israeli warplanes bombed several homes crowded with displaced people, resulting in the deaths of over 83 civilians and the injury of hundreds more, most of whom were women and children.
The Israeli ethnic cleansing campaign against the displaced people in the northern Gaza Strip continues, with Israeli persisting in relentless shelling, indiscriminate killings, and widespread destruction of homes, institutions, water wells, and bakeries.
Moreover, IOF have besieged the three remaining hospitals in northern Gaza with artillery and gunfire, shelling the upper floors of Al-Awda Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital, killing a patient in the intensive care unit and injuring numerous displaced persons and medical staff.
Through such atrocities, IOF seek to forcibly displace the population in the northern Gaza Strip to clear the area to facilitate the implementation of settlement plans.
The Director of the Damir Foundation, Alaa Al-Skafi, stated on Sunday that the IOF are employing various methods of killing and starvation to force citizens out of the northern Gaza Strip, particularly in the Jabalia camp, in order to execute what they refer to as the “generals’ plan.”
Al-Skafi emphasized that IOF are intentionally targeting the health sector, rendering the area uninhabitable and compelling residents to flee, particularly from Jabalia camp, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun.
For his part, Ismail Al-Thawabta, the Director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, stated that the Israeli occupation is enforcing a policy of starvation and thirst against civilians aiming at displacing the residents of northern Gaza in accordance with an American-Israeli plan designed to establish a buffer zone.
According to the official website of the United Nations, Balakrishnan Rajagopal, the independent UN investigator responsible for the right to adequate housing, stated that the Israeli occupation is systematically destroying the infrastructure, housing, and institutions in the Gaza Strip. He highlighted that by January 2024, between 60% and 70% of homes in Gaza had been destroyed, with the northern region experiencing an even higher devastation rate of 82%.
Since October 7, 2023, the IOF troops have been conducting what has been described as a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, which has killed and injured over 141,000 Palestinians, with a significant number of victims being children and women, with more than 10,000 individuals reported missing.
