IOF Attak Palestinian Protesters in Masafer Yatta

B.M | DOP -

Israeli occupation forces IOF on Saturday, September 24, attacked Palestinian protesters at Al-Tuwani area in Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces raided the Al-Tuwani area in an attempt to prevent Palestinians from holding an anti-settlement protest in the area.

The sources added that Israeli occupation forces targeted the protesters with tear gas canisters, injuring several, including three journalists.

Coordinator for the Anti-Wall and Settlement Committee Rateb al-Jabour said that IOF prevented Palestinian cars from accessing the area to take part in the protest.

Activist Al-Jabour pointed out that Palestinian activists have recently managed to remove a settlement tent erected by Israeli settlers in the Umm Al-Rakhim area in Masafer Yatta.

Israeli occupation forces, aiming at seizing the whole area, escalated their repressive practices in Masafer Yatta. The practices include demolitions, stopping construction, preventing citizens and sheep herders from reaching their grazing areas, and attacking civilians.
