DaysofPal- The documentary “Inside Gaza” has won both the Grand Prize and the Audience Award at the 33rd edition of the FIGRA International Documentary Festival, held in France on Friday evening.
Directed by French filmmaker Hélène Lam Trong, the 76-minute film offers an intimate look at the daily lives of journalists working in Gaza following the events of October 7, 2023.
The documentary is a co-production between Arte France, RTBF, and Factstory.
“Inside Gaza” follows four reporters and collaborators from Agence France-Presse as they document the challenges of reporting from a war-torn region where foreign media access remains highly restricted.
Through personal accounts, the film sheds light on the risks and emotional toll faced by journalists covering the conflict.
In addition to the top honors, the Special Jury Prize was awarded to “Fragments de guerre” (“Fragments of War”), directed by Solène Chalvon-Fioriti.
The documentary focuses on testimonies from women affected by war, spanning from Gaza to the occupied West Bank.
A total of 57 films competed in the festival’s official selection, which concludes on Saturday.
