A member of Israel’s parliament threatened to use “imprecise missiles” in the war against the Gaza enclave in response to a US pause on arms transfer to Tel Aviv on Thursday, according to Anadolu Agency.
Biden said in an interview on CNN late on Wednesday that he had paused arms transfer to ‘Israel’ over its offensive on Rafah, where some 1.5 million displaced Palestinians have sheltered from Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza enclave.
His decision has triggered a wave of rage inside ‘Israel’, with several government officials opening fire on the US President.
“The US is not threatening to give us precise missiles. Oh yeah? Well, I got news for the US. We have imprecise missiles, and we have the right to defend ourselves,” Tally Gotlive, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party, told Israeli Channel 7.
She continued her racist remarks: “So, maybe instead of using a precise missile and take down a specific room, or a specific building, I’ll use my imprecise missiles, and I’ll just destroy ten buildings. That’s what I’ll do.”
The far-right Knesset member claimed that ‘Israel’ has the right to defend itself, and “will use what we possess”.
Other Israeli officials have reached out to US Senators to condemn Biden’s decision and demand the immediate reinstatement of weapons to ‘Israel’, with some senators even calling for Biden’s impeachment over this move.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also asserted Israel’s readiness to proceed independently into the crowded city, saying “If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone. If we need to, we will fight with our fingernails.”
“We must continue the war until Hamas is totally eliminated and our hostages are back home,” Israel’s Finance Minister Smotrich said, calling for the complete destruction and invasion of Rafah.
Israel’ national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir sarcastically tweeted “Hamas loves Biden”, swearing to propose a complete cancellation of aid entry into Gaza from all crossings.
Biden during his interview with CNN acknowledged that US weapons have been used by the Israeli army to kill civilians in Gaza.
Since October, 7th 2023, more than 34,900 people were killed by the Israeli army and 78,500 others were injured in a brutal offensive on the Gaza enclave.
