DaysofPal- The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the health sector in the northern Gaza Strip suffers from a catastrophic situation as most essential medical supplies are unavailable.
The Ministry added that it has reached out to international organizations to restart operations at the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza.
In press statements, the Ministry said that the minimal medical aid entering the Gaza Strip is insufficient to meet the overwhelming needs, exacerbating the dire situation and leaving the healthcare system on the brink of collapse.
On Saturday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza is no longer operational due to targeted attacks by Israeli occupation forces.
“The hospital can no longer provide services to patients or the wounded.” The ministry added.
The Ministry highlighted that the northern Gaza Governorate previously housed three public hospitals: Kamal Adwan Hospital, the Indonesian Hospital, and Beit Hanoun Hospital.
All three have been deliberately targeted and destroyed by Israeli forces, rendering them entirely out of service.
The Ministry of Health has urged international organizations and concerned parties to pressure the Israeli occupation to reopen hospitals in northern Gaza.
Thousands of residents, including children, pregnant women, patients, and the wounded, are being deprived of essential health services, leaving them vulnerable to life-threatening conditions in the absence of necessities.
Israeli occupation forces stormed the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza, threatening medical staff and patients and demanding an immediate evacuation.
With all hospitals in northern Gaza out of service, approximately 75,000 residents are now completely deprived of access to medical care.
The closure of the Indonesian Hospital follows the Israeli assault on Kamal Adwan Hospital about 10 days prior.
During that attack, Israeli forces burnt several departments, arrested medical staff, and detained the hospital’s director, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyeh.
The situation underscores an urgent need for international intervention to restore critical health services and uphold the rights of Gaza’s residents.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation, backed by American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza.
The Israeli genocide has killed and injured over 154 thousand people, the majority of whom are women and children.
Additionally, over 10,000 individuals remain missing. This has unfolded amidst widespread destruction, famine, and worsening humanitarian conditions, resulting in the deaths of dozens of children and elderly individuals in what is considered one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
The Israeli occupation forces continued their genocide disregarding a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate halt to the violence.
They have also ignored directives from the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and to address the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
