The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, issued on Wednesday a strong condemnation in response to the recent passing of a resolution by the United States House of Representatives, declaring that the Zionist entity is not a racist state.
In a statement, Hamas categorically rejects this resolution, viewing it as a clear display of bias in favor of the Israeli occupation and its continuous perpetration of crimes and violations against the Palestinian people.
The statement said that the United States Congress, through this resolution, has disregarded the alarming record of massacres committed by the Zionist occupation against Palestinians, including the recent rampage carried out by Israeli colonial settlers in the town of Huwwara and other West Bank communities.
“Deliberate burning and ransacking and destroying Palestinian homes are examples of the heinous crimes committed by terrorist Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli occupation forces,” the statement read.
In addition, the statement added, “Such sabotage unveils the occupation’s racism and policy of ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people.”
The movement emphasized that this unjust resolution will not alter the reality of the settler-colonial occupation state, which continues to implement policies of ethnic cleansing and forcible displacement against the Palestinian population.
Hamas reaffirms the Palestinian people’s unwavering commitment to their legitimate right to resistance until liberation is achieved and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
Earlier on Tuesday, the United States House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a resolution proclaiming that Israel is “not a racist or apartheid state”, in a message directed at progressive critics.
