DaysofPal- The Hamas Movement stated early Thursday morning that it has submitted its response to the ceasefire proposal via Arab mediators.
“A short while ago, we submitted our response, along with that of the Palestinian factions, to the ceasefire proposal through our brothers, the mediators,” said Hamas in a brief statement.
On Wednesday, well-informed sources said that the Hamas Movement had delivered its reply after making consultations with Palestinian factions regarding the revised proposal aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire.
The sources indicated that Hamas’s response focused primarily on the entry of humanitarian aid, withdrawal maps, and guarantees to ensure a permanent end to the war.
Since July 6, the parties have been negotiating in Doha, under Qatari and Egyptian mediation, with support from the United States, to reach an agreement on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in the Gaza Strip.
Over the past 21 months, several rounds of indirect negotiations have been held between Israel and Hamas, brokered by Qatar and Egypt. During this time, two partial agreements were reached, the first in November 2023, and the second in January 2025.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu evaded implementing the latest agreement and resumed the genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025.
Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have waged a war of extermination against Gaza’s population, resulting in the killing of more than 59,000 Palestinians, the injury of over 143,000, and the displacement of nearly the entire population of the Strip, amid destruction unprecedented since World War II, according to Palestinian and international reports.
