DaysofPal- Hamas Movement stated that the issue of wounded Palestinians will remain a collective national responsibility, emphasizing that their suffering must not be forgotten amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
In a statement issued Friday to mark Palestinian Wounded Day, the movement said the occasion serves as a reminder to the international community of the scale of Israeli crimes against Palestinians, including men, women, and children, and called for accountability under international law.
Hamas urged the international community to ensure that wounded Palestinians receive their full rights, particularly access to medical treatment, as well as adequate healthcare, education, and the ability to live in dignity.
The movement said this year’s commemoration comes after a devastating two-year Israeli genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, which has left long-lasting humanitarian consequences, especially for the wounded.
According to the statement, the number of injured Palestinians has surpassed 170,000 people, many of whom continue to face severe challenges due to limited healthcare services, damaged medical infrastructure, and restrictions preventing some patients from receiving treatment abroad.
Hamas stressed that the issue of the wounded in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and Jerusalem will remain both a national and humanitarian cause that cannot be overlooked.
“The issue of the wounded will remain a symbol of loyalty and commitment to an important segment of Palestinian society,” the movement said, adding that their sacrifices will remain part of the collective memory and ongoing struggle of the Palestinian people.
The movement also renewed its commitment to support wounded Palestinians and uphold what it described as the Palestinian people’s national rights, including defending land and holy sites.
