DaysofPal-The Hamas Movement stated that the confessions of former U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, regarding the Israeli Prime Minister’s intention to continue the genocidal war in Gaza for decades, confirm that Netanyahu stalled and lied by introducing new conditions whenever agreements were close to being finalized.
Miller revealed on Friday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Washington he intended to wage war on Gaza for decades and that the U.S. administration was aware of his intransigence over a ceasefire.
In an interview with the Israeli Channel 13, Miller explained that then–Secretary of State Antony Blinken had warned the Israeli occupation early in the war that “without a clear plan for Gaza’s future, it risks facing an endless insurgency.”
Hamas, in a statement on Sunday, stressed that these American admissions, along with earlier Israeli ones, prove Netanyahu is the real obstacle to prisoner-exchange deals and ceasefire agreements.
The Movement noted that Netanyahu’s approval of a plan to occupy Gaza, after Hamas had already accepted the mediators’ proposal, demonstrates his determination to sabotage any deal.
Hamas clarified that it had agreed to a partial deal and expressed readiness for a comprehensive one, but Netanyahu rejected all solutions.
The Movement emphasized that reaching a ceasefire agreement is the only path to securing the prisoners’ release, holding Netanyahu fully responsible for the fate of the prisoners still alive with the resistance.
Hamas also called for continued official and popular pressure to stop the genocide and starvation against the Palestinian people.
The statement concluded by stressing that more than twenty-two months of aggression have exposed the illusion of the so-called “absolute victory” boasted of by the war criminals Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich.
