Palestinian Resistance Movement of Hamas hailed Thursday that the Arab Summit in Bahrain called for the unwavering Arab support for Palestinians’ aspirations for liberation and independence.
The annual Arab Summit in Bahrain demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and proposed an international peace conference in the Middle East.
Hamas commended the Summit’s condemnation of the Israeli aggression and attempts to displace Palestinian people through genocidal war and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, urging as well Arab nations “to take the necessary actions to compel ‘Israel’ to stop its aggression.
In addition, it urged the summit to call on a complete withdrawal of Israeli army from Gaza, including the Rafah Crossing, lifting of the blockade, facilitating the return of displaced people and support the reconstruction efforts.
However, Hamas slammed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ remarks regarding the 7-october attack, saying that the Israeli occupation that has been massacring the Palestinian people since the Nakba in 1948 doesn’t actually need any excuses to do so.
The Israeli army launched a ground offensive on Rafah, a home to 1.5 million displaced Palestinians. The UNRWA estimated around 600,000 people have fled the city since the start of Israeli operations in early May.
Invasion on Rafah is part of a large-scale bloody military operation started in the last October in the Gaza enclave, where more than 35,200 Palestinians have since been killed, the vast majority of whom have been women and children, and over 79,200 injured.
