DayofPal- Hamas Movement slams Israel for continually carrying out violations and escalating attacks across the Gaza Strip, describing the latest assaults as a “clear coup” against ceasefire understandings and agreements brokered by mediators.
Hazem Qassem, spokesperson for Hamas, said on Saturday that Israeli forces intensified overnight attacks by bombing residential homes and displacing civilians, despite agreements that reportedly stipulated the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the prevention of new attacks on the ground.
Qassem stated that Israeli forces continued airstrikes, destruction, and incursions into residential areas in “an attempt to impose a new reality and tighten restrictions on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”
He stressed that the ongoing assaults were “not isolated violations,” but rather a systematic escalation and a disregard for mediation efforts and international guarantees, while accusing Israel of continuing policies of siege, starvation, and killing against two million Palestinians in the enclave.
The Hamas spokesperson called on mediators and parties involved in the Sharm Al-Sheikh understandings and the so-called Trump peace council to intervene urgently to halt “dangerous violations and pressure Israel to abide by its commitments.”
Yesterday evening, Israeli forces bombed two buildings in central Gaza after issuing evacuation warnings for two residential blocks, forcing dozens of families to flee and sparking panic among women and children.
The Israeli army also targeted a house belonging to the Abu Seif family on Street 20 in the Nuseirat refugee camp after calling residents and ordering the evacuation of an entire residential block.
In a separate strike, Israeli forces bombed another building containing commercial shops in Al-Bureij refugee camp following a similar warning call demanding residents evacuate the surrounding area. The evacuation orders triggered the displacement of dozens of families amid scenes of fear and chaos, particularly among children and women.
Israeli forces have continued air and artillery attacks across the Gaza Strip, particularly targeting areas sheltering displaced civilians, while demolition operations inside areas referred to as the “yellow line” have also persisted. Restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel remain in place.
According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the death toll since the ceasefire announced on October 10 has risen to 890 Palestinians killed and 2,677 wounded, in addition to 777 bodies recovered from destroyed areas.
Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, at least 72,783 Palestinians have been killed and 172,779 injured, according to the latest figures released by Gaza health authorities.
