The head of the Government Press Office in Gaza Salama Maarouf condemned on Wednesday, 10 May 2023 Israeli occupation preventing foreign Press crews from entering Gaza to cover ongoing Israeli aggression by closing the Erez crossing for the second day in a row.
Maarouf called on the International Federation of Journalists to take practical steps to reject the Israeli violation of the freedom to practice media work.
He added that the prevention policy has become a permanent policy of the Israeli occupation in every aggression against Gaza to silence the Palestinian narrative.
The head called on the foreign media to shed light on Israeli violations and to hold the Israeli occupation responsible for preventing the press crews from entering Gaza to remind the world of the Israeli occupation’s attacks against the media and its staff operating in the occupied Palestinian lands.
He affirmed that the silence of the international organizations and bodies concerned with the rights of journalists and freedom of opinion is encouraging the Israeli occupiers to deliberately target the media and press crews in various ways.
