DayofPal—The Gaza Government Media Office said Israel has violated the U.S.-brokered ceasefire at least 497 times over the past 44 days, killing hundreds of Palestinians since the truce took effect on October 10.
According to the office, 342 civilians have been killed in the violations, with children, women, and the elderly said to make up the majority of the casualties.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the continued serious and systematic violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli occupation authorities,” the media office said in a statement issued Saturday. It described the attacks as a “flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and the humanitarian protocol attached to the agreement.”
The office reported 27 violations on Saturday alone, resulting in 24 deaths and 87 injuries, and asserted that Israel bears full responsibility for the resulting humanitarian and security consequences.
Local authorities and aid groups continue to warn of severe shortages in Gaza, saying Israel is restricting the flow of humanitarian assistance and medical supplies despite obligations set out in the ceasefire.
Israel’s military launched new airstrikes across Gaza on Saturday, killing at least 24 Palestinians, including children, according to health officials in the enclave.
War criminal Benjamin Netanyahu’s office claimed the strikes were carried out in response to an alleged attack by a Hamas fighter on Israeli soldiers stationed inside Gaza’s so-called yellow line, an unmarked boundary established under the ceasefire terms.
Hamas condemned Israeli violations and said Israel “fabricated pretexts” to attack Gaza, urging mediators, the United States, Egypt and Qatar, to intervene. It also rejected media reports suggesting the group had withdrawn from the ceasefire.
Authorities in northern Gaza say dozens of families have been “besieged” as Israeli forces repositioned deeper into the territory, a move Palestinian officials and Hamas said violates the ceasefire’s geographic terms.
“Israel is fabricating pretexts to evade the agreement and return to the war of annihilation, while it is the one violating the agreement daily and systematically,” said Izzat Al-Risheq, a member of Hamas’s political bureau.
The yellow line was intended to define the limit of Israeli military presence after the truce took effect, though Palestinian factions say Israel is now pushing westward beyond the agreed boundary.
