DaysofPal- The Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) has submitted the final verdict of the so-called “Gaza Tribunal” to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, following the tribunal’s investigation into alleged Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the forum said its president, Taha Ayhan, presented the tribunal’s concluding ruling, issued by its Conscience Panel, to President Erdoğan during a meeting held last Friday.

The discussions included a review of the decision as well as briefings from international civil society groups on developments in Gaza and renewed demands for accountability and justice.

The forum thanked President Erdoğan for his firm and principled position, praising his continued calls for justice in response to the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The tribunal’s final ruling, announced in Istanbul on October 26, 2025, found the Israeli occupation, along with parties cooperating with it, responsible for committing genocide in Gaza and for other grave violations of international law.

The “Gaza Tribunal” is an independent international initiative launched in London in November 2024 by academics, intellectuals, human rights advocates, and civil society representatives. Its founders said it was created in response to the international community’s complete failure to uphold and enforce international law in Gaza.

The tribunal’s executive and advisory bodies include internationally recognized professors, specialists in international law, and prominent figures from civil society and solidarity movements worldwide.

Its work began with main hearings held in Sarajevo from May 26 to 29, 2025, attended by around 800 participants.

During these sessions, 55 lawyers, scholars, experts, and victim witnesses presented testimony on alleged violations in Gaza, laying the ethical, legal, and methodological groundwork for the tribunal.

The final hearings took place in Istanbul between October 23 and 26, 2025, hosted by Istanbul University and attended by nearly 3,000 people.

A total of 70 experts and victim witnesses testified in person and online, with the sessions broadcast live and recorded for public access internationally.
