UNRWA has condemned again the dire circumstances unfolding in the Gaza enclave, following reports and photos regarding the devastating Israeli attacks on displaced people barracks in Rafah on Sunday night, saying this is another yet grim testament to the persistent Israeli assaults on Gaza.
UNRWA expressed that it’s appalled to view the unfolding humanitarian crisis worsening in Gaza, revealing in a statement on X that “The information emerging from Rafah about the latest assaults on families seeking refuge is horrifying.”
Reports indicated significant casualties, including women and children among the dead, it added
The agency underscored the severe conditions in Gaza, describing it as “hell on earth,” and emphasized that the images from the previous night provided further evidence of the unrelenting Israeli assaults.
Since October, the Israeli army has conducted an intense military offensive against Gaza, defying a UN Security Council resolution that called for an immediate ceasefire. The Unprecedented war has resulted in the killing of over 36,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and left nearly 80,000 injured.
The ongoing offensive has reduced large portions of Gaza to rubble, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis under a stringent blockade that limits access to food, clean water, and medical supplies.
South Africa took ‘Israel’ to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the background of committing genocide in Gaza. The ICJ orders, which has mandated that Tel Aviv prevent acts of genocide and facilitate humanitarian aid for Gaza, has been ignored by ‘Israel’.
