The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has reported a troubling increase in fatalities in Gaza due to the ongoing blockade imposed by Israel and the prolonged war since last October.
This blockade has resulted in a severe shortage of essential medical supplies, including critical medical devices and necessary medications.
The situation has worsened over the past ten months as Israel has systematically and extensively damaged Gaza’s health infrastructure.
The organization emphasized the urgent need for immediate action to lift the blockade, allowing the entry of medical supplies to save the lives of sick and injured civilians.
There is also a pressing need to ensure that individuals requiring medical treatment abroad can travel, and to facilitate the immediate rebuilding of Gaza’s healthcare system while protecting it from further Israeli attacks.
