The High Representative of the European Union, Joseph Borrell, said that EU regrets the murder of 11 Palestinians, including a child, and the wounding of more than 100 others, during a military operation carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in Nablus yesterday.

He stressed the need to fully respect international humanitarian law, and to avoid the use of excessive force.

EU expressed its deep concern about the escalation of violence in the West Bank, calling on all parties to work to restore calm and de-escalate tensions to avoid further loss of life.

It affirmed its support for the presidential statement of 20 February adopted by the United Nations Security Council, and urges all parties to fully abide by it.

On Monday, February 20, 2023, he UN Security Council issued a formal statement, condemning Israeli occupation’s plan to expand Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

It is worth noting that the European Union’s stance towards the Palestinian issue is not serious and is content with just condemnations, nothing more.

However, the Israeli occupation ignores all international humanitarian laws and agreements and continues escalating its crimes and massacres against the Palestinian people.

Yesterday, Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces committed a massacre in Nablus, murdering11 Palestinian citizens, including a child and two elderly people, and injuring more than 102 others.
