An emaciated 10-year-old Palestinian child, Yazan al-Kafarneh, died on 4 March 2024 from severe malnourishment and insufficient healthcare, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported.
Al-Kafarneh’s medical condition rapidly deteriorated as the Israeli occupation continued its war of famine across the enclave and became increasingly dire.
The Israeli famine has initiated new alarms by the UN aid agency UNICEF, whose regional director for MENA said that “the child deaths we feared are here and are likely to rapidly increase unless the war ends and obstacles to humanitarian relief are immediately resolved”.
Palestinian Medical sources reported that the number of children dying due to malnutrition and inadequate treatment in the Gaza Strip has risen to 16.
