Dozens of Israeli settlers invaded the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023, through the Moroccan Gate entrance, under strict protection by Israeli occupation forces.
According to the Islamic Waqf Authority, scores of settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque in successive groups, conducting provocative tours within its courtyards. Before departing through the Chain Gate, they received explanations about the alleged “Temple,” performed Talmudic rituals near the Gate of Mercy and opposite the Dome of the Rock.
Israeli occupation forces continue to enforce stringent measures, restricting the entry of worshippers to Al-Aqsa Mosque and impeding their movement freely within its courtyards.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque experiences daily violations and incursions by settlers. These actions seek to divide the mosque both temporally and spatially.
In July 2023 alone, about 6,558 colonial Israeli settlers raided the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, engaging in provocative Talmudic rituals.
