DaysofPal- Thousands of displaced Palestinians made their way back to Gaza City on Friday, using Rashid Street as a main route, following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, Al Jazeera reported.
Footage showed Israeli tanks withdrawing from areas near the Jordanian Hospital in southern Gaza City, signaling a partial military pullback.
As part of the initial phase of the US-brokered ceasefire deal, Israel is expected to reposition its forces along a designated line. In exchange, Hamas is to release around 20 living captives and the remains of approximately 25 others. Israel, in turn, is anticipated to free about 2,000 Palestinian detainees from its prisons.
The return of displaced residents and partial troop withdrawal mark early steps in implementing the agreement, although long-term stability remains uncertain.
