DaysofPal- A Palestinian security source has affirmed that the project of collaborator militias made by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip has failed on political, social, and moral levels, after its narrative completely collapsed, its disruptive function was exposed, and it faced firm rejection from Palestinian society.
Speaking to Palestine Online on condition of anonymity, the source said the militias failed to gain any form of public acceptance or social legitimacy, stressing that experience has proven this project to be fundamentally incompatible with Palestinian public awareness, social cohesion, and the people’s ability to distinguish between legitimate internal differences and treason linked to the occupation and its external agendas.
The source emphasized that confronting treason is ultimately a battle of awareness, values, and law, noting that unified public support, alongside responsible government performance, constitutes the real protective shield for society.
This unity, he said, safeguards national sacrifices and thwarts attempts to infiltrate, destabilize, or undermine security and the future of the Palestinian community.
He added that this clear societal stance represents a powerful moral, national, and legal message, reaffirming that Palestinian society, across all its components, rejects collaboration and its discourse, morally isolates it, and upholds its right to protection, security, and stability within the framework of the rule of law and national responsibility.
Regarding public family disavowals of individuals involved in collaborator militias, the source described these actions as a significant societal lever supporting government efforts, particularly those of the security services tasked with maintaining public order.
He explained that such disavowals draw a decisive line between the authentic social fabric and individual acts of treason involving cooperation with the occupation, stressing that they strip away attempts to exploit family or social ties as political or moral cover for subversive practices.
“This position strengthens societal immunity, weakens potential incubating environments for collaboration, and grants official institutions additional social legitimacy to enforce the law,” the source said.
He underlined that this is done without generalization or collective stigmatization, in a manner that preserves civil peace and fortifies the internal front.
On the nature of the security measures taken against these militias, the source stated that the handling of the file followed a disciplined, legal, and security-based approach. This approach focused on dismantling organizational structures, thwarting infiltration and sabotage attempts, and pursuing those involved in accordance with established legal procedures.
He added that these steps were accompanied by preventive, administrative, and legal measures that curbed the spread of such phenomena and reduced their ability to operate or exert influence publicly.
The source reiterated that accountability remains the exclusive responsibility of state institutions, and is not a matter for chaos or acts of revenge.
