The Palestinian Civil Defense Society (PCDS) in Gaza said that its crews had received hundreds of appeals since Sunday morning from displaced Palestinian families in various areas of the Gaza Strip, demanding tents or caravans to protect them from rainwater.
In a press statement published on Monday, the PCDS called on humanitarian organizations and institutions to respond to the calls of the displaced Palestinians and provide urgent assistance by bringing in tents and plastic caravans.
The general directorate of the civil defense service appealed to the International Civil Defense Organization, and all concerned humanitarian institutions to urgently intervene to pressure the Israeli regime to allow the entry of tents and caravans into Gaza before Palestinians are exposed to disasters of drowning and death.
Notably, many tents for the displaced Gazans were flooded on Sunday in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, due to the heavy rainwater, which exacerbated the suffering of hundreds of thousands of displaced people in tents and shelters.
