On the occasion of Palestinian Prisoner’s Day, which is April 17 of each year, Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies said that over 4,500 Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation jails need all forms of support and solidarity as they are subjected to grave violations that endanger their lives.
The Center added that the Israeli occupation has kidnapped nearly one million Palestinians since 1967, meaning that more than 25% of the Palestinians in the occupied territories have tasted the bitterness of detention.
The Israeli occupation authorities are still detaining 4,500 Palestinian prisoners, including 32 female prisoners, 160 children, 9 representatives of the Palestinian Legislative Council, 548 prisoners who have been sentenced to life imprisonment, and 540 prisoners under administrative detention.
It added that 650 prisoners suffer from various serious diseases such as cancer, kidney failure, and disabilities.
