DaysofPal- At least 22 Palestinian civilians were killed, and dozens more were injured on Thursday evening when the Israeli occupation forces bombed a UNRWA school that was sheltering displaced families in the Jabalia refugee camp, in the northern Gaza Strip.
Medical sources reported that the Israeli army targeted the UNRWA-run Abu Hussein School, resulting in the deaths and injuries of dozens of displaced individuals, including women and children.
Official Medhat Abbas stated: “There’s no water to put out the fire. There’s nothing left. This is a massacre.”
“Civilians and children are being killed, burned under fire,” said Abbas.
The Israeli military claims the strike targeted an “operational meeting” involving Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters, though no evidence was provided to back this claim. The school, however, was being used as a shelter for displaced civilians, as Israel’s siege of Jabalia in northern Gaza reached its 13th day.
Israeli forces have warned residents in Lebanon’s Bekaa region to evacuate, as the area will be the target of upcoming military strikes.
Meanwhile, a German warship, part of the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission, shot down a drone off Lebanon’s coast on Thursday, according to the German defense ministry. No further details about the drone or its origin have been released by the ministry.
