DaysofPal – An Israeli strike on the Zeitoun neighborhood has killed at least seven Palestinians and wounded 41 others, many of them children, according to medical sources at al-Quds Hospital.
Ambulances continue to transport the wounded as shelling persists in the area, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported, with medical teams working tirelessly amid scarce resources to treat the growing number of casualties.
This latest attack is separate from an earlier Israeli airstrike that tragically killed an entire family of eight, two parents and six children, in the same neighborhood. The family’s death underscores the heavy civilian toll the conflict continues to exact.
In addition to the recent strike in Zeitoun, Israeli forces carried out air raids on several other locations across Gaza on Monday.
Three Palestinians were killed and others injured when a tent sheltering displaced people on Al-Lababidi Street in Gaza City was bombed. Meanwhile, in Khan Yunis, seven Palestinians lost their lives and several others were wounded in an airstrike targeting a house in the western camp.
Hospitals remain overwhelmed by the influx of casualties. Al-Awda Hospital reported receiving five bodies, including a child, and 26 wounded after an attack on an aid distribution point south of Wadi Gaza. Furthermore, a Palestinian man was killed near an aid center in Al-Shakoush, northwest of Rafah.
The ongoing violence has also claimed the lives of six journalists, including Al Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqea, whose tent near al-Shifa Hospital was directly targeted. Cameramen Ibrahim Daher and Mohammed Nofal were also among those killed.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli military campaign, supported by the United States, has devastated Gaza. Over 61,000 Palestinians have been killed, more than 153,000 injured, and thousands remain missing.
Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine continues to claim lives, especially among children.
