The Palestinian prisoner Ashraf Ribhi Hanaysha, from the town of Qabatiya, south of occupied Jenin, entered Friday, August 18, 2023, his 18th consecutive year in the Israeli occupation prisons.
Montaser Sammour, director of the Prisoners’ Club in Jenin, stated that the Palestinian prisoner Hanaysha has been detained since 2006, and the Israeli occupation court have sentenced him to life imprisonment.
Israeli occupation authorities currently hold some 4900 Palestinians in prisons, including 160 children and 31 women.
554 Palestinian prisoners are serving life sentences, including 40 who served more than 25 years, while 23 others were detained before the Oslo Accords.
