Days of Palestine – Ramallah
Algerian, Ahmed Toba, refused to travel to ‘Tel Aviv’ with his Turkish team, Istanbul Basaksehir, to face the Israeli club Maccabi Netanya in the second leg of the preliminary round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Israeli and Algerian media confirmed that Toba refused to travel to Israel on Thursday evening to play the match, and this came after talking about his refusal to participate in the first leg, which was in Istanbul last week.
The first leg match in Turkey ended in a 1-1 draw between the two teams.
The Algerian defender won wide praise from the Arab masses in return for being subjected to campaigns of incitement and insults from the Maccabi fans.

The Hebrew website One wondered if Toba might be subject to administrative or financial penalties from his club, or even from the European Football Association, because of his refusal to travel to Israel.
Istanbul Basaksehir contracted with Toba at the beginning of July, from the Dutch team RKC Waalvik, for 2 million euros.
Although Toba, 24, has Belgian citizenship, he chose to represent the Algerian national team, where his family belongs.
Toba appeared in the “Desert Warriors” shirt in 6 matches until this moment, during which he scored one goal.
