The head of the African Union Commission has appealed for an end to the conflict between Israeli forces and the Palestinian resistance which has killed hundreds on both sides.
Moussa Faki Mahamat said he “wishes to recall that denial of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people, particularly that of an independent and sovereign State, is the main cause of the permanent Israeli-Palestinian tension,” the statement said.

The Palestinian ministry of Health stated Sunday morning 8 October 2023 that the Israeli war against Gaza killed 313 Palestinians including 20 children, and injured more than 1990.
The Palestinian ministry of Health added that Israeli occupation forces killed 2 Palestinians in West Bank city of Ramallah, 1 Palestinian in Jericho, 1 child in Qalqilya, 2 Palestinians in Hebron and one in Nablus.
