Days of Palestine – Dhaka

Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Abul Kalam Abdul Momen affirmed his country’s condemnation of the racist measures carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities against Palestinian people in the West Bank, including Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, noting that they amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Abdel Momen added during a press conference with the participation of Palestine’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Youssef Ramadan, that his country did not and will not recognize “Israel” before the Palestinian people obtain their full legitimate rights, “on top of which is the establishment of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.”

He described the relationship between Bangladesh and Palestine as “a deeply rooted spirituality that no one can tamper with.”

For his part, Ambassador Ramadan valued the position of the Bangladeshi government and people in support of Palestinian people and their just cause in all international forums, stressing the stability of the historical relationship between the two countries that is rooted 50 years ago.

Ramadan thanked the Bengali people for their financial and in-kind donations to our people, pointing out that despite the need of the Bengali citizens, they share the livelihood with their brother in Palestine, in a clear and explicit message for their standing by Palestinian people in their defense of their land and sanctities.

It is noteworthy that Ambassador Ramadan met with Foreign Minister Abdel Momen three times in less than two weeks, amid interest from the Bengali media on developments in the situation in Palestine and the activities of the Palestinian Embassy in Dhaka.
