Prisoner Imad Al-Batran from the city of Hebron, in the south of the occupied West Bank, that in a difficult health condition, has been continuing his open hunger strike for 38 days against his administrative detention.
The head of the Prisoners and Executives Affairs Authority, Major General Qadri Abu Bakr, said that Al-Batran is in a difficult health condition, and has continued his open hunger strike for 37 days against his administrative detention.
Abu Bakr added in a statement that the Israeli occupation insists and continues to isolate him and try to pressure him to end his strike, stressing that "the administrative ruling on the prisoner has no meaning, and the occupation has no justification for his arrest.
He stated that the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons suffer difficult living conditions, as a result of repressive practices, collective punishment, and denial of their most basic legitimate rights stipulated by international law.
Abu Bakr indicated that there are about 30 prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons prior to the Oslo agreement, despite the existence of an agreement for their release, including prisoners who were freed and re-arrested, and until now they are still in captivity despite all international interventions.
