Sheikh Raed Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement in the Occupied Territories in 1948, entered the third month in the solitary confinement cells at Israeli Ashkelon Prison.
Sheikh Salah was transferred from Jalameh Prison to Shikma Prison in Ashkelon on the same day that his arrest began.
The defense team of Sheikh Salah explained that, "from the moment he entered prison, he suffers from difficult detention conditions, which are preventing family visits, and not providing his belongings and needs such as books, newspapers, magazines, etc."
On February 10, 2020, the Israeli occupation court imposed the actual imprisonment on Sheikh Salah for 28 months in the "file of principles" while reducing the 11 months he spent in actual detention in the aforementioned file.
Salah served various sentences in the occupation prisons, the first in 1981, the second in 2003, and the third in 2010, while he was arrested a year later in Britain, then he was re-arrested in 2016, and since 2017, while he is being pursued in what is known as the Constants File.
Sheikh Salah was born on November 10, 1958 in Umm al-Fahm. He is married and has eight children, three males and five females. He is one of the most famous and prominent political figures in the face of occupation policies and he was the first who discovered the Israeli excavations of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
