DaysofPal-Hamas on Tuesday condemned remarks by Israeli Army Minister Israel Katz regarding plans to establish three settlement outposts in the northern Gaza Strip, saying they reflect a policy of displacement and further escalation.
In a statement, Hamas said the proposed plans demonstrate Israel’s continued efforts to impose a new reality on the ground and forcibly displace Palestinians.
The group said Katz’s comments reveal what it described as a “mindset of displacement and ethnic cleansing,” accusing the Israeli leadership of pursuing policies aimed at expanding control over Palestinian land in disregard of international law and United Nations resolutions.
Hamas also called on mediators involved in ceasefire efforts, including the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, to fulfill their responsibilities and take immediate action to halt what it described as Israel’s expansionist plans.
The statement further said that Katz’s reported remarks expressing satisfaction with the destruction in Gaza demonstrate, in Hamas’s view, a premeditated intent to commit acts amounting to genocide against Palestinians in the enclave.
Hamas urged the International Criminal Court and judicial authorities around the world to investigate the allegations and hold Israeli officials accountable, including by issuing arrest warrants for those it says are responsible for crimes committed against Palestinians.
