DayofPal – Fifteen-year-old Palestinian student Tala Mohammad Waheed Awad, who survived the war in the Gaza Strip and was forced to flee with her family, has won the gold medal in the 2026 São Paulo State Mathematics Olympiad (OMASP).
Tala earned the top honor after excelling in the statewide competition, marking a remarkable academic achievement and highlighting her determination to succeed despite the hardships she has endured.
