DaysofPal- Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem confirmed today that the Israeli occupation forces are continuing their systematic war against Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, deliberately targeting and killing them. Qassem highlighted the killing of a child, Ahmad Al-Raqab, this afternoon in the city of Khan Younis due to a strike carried out by an Israeli drone.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Qassem pointed out that the killing of Ahmad Al-Raqab occurred just one day after a United Nations report condemned the occupation for committing crimes of genocide against the children of Gaza.
He stressed that this confirms the occupation government’s ongoing, blatant defiance of international law and its disregard for all international resolutions and reports.
The Hamas spokesperson emphasized that the killing of more than 20,000 Palestinian children since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip proves beyond a doubt that the targeting and killing of children is intentional and systematic, forming part of a policy aimed at annihilating the Palestinian people.
Qassem noted that these ongoing crimes reveal the extent of Israeli contempt for the United Nations system, its charters, and its reports, underscoring the urgent need for immediate international action to halt the war of genocide and to hold occupation leaders accountable for their crimes against innocent children and civilians.
On Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces persisted in violating the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip by firing and shelling a number of locations in the Strip’s eastern and southern regions. Local sources reported that a child was killed and several citizens were injured when occupation aircraft bombed a tent in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis.
Additionally, medical sources announced the death of citizen Adam Abu Hadaid, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a previous Israeli bombardment near Street 5 in Mawasi Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip.
The military operations extended heavily into shelter zones and residential areas. Israeli occupation aircraft bombed a displacement shelter camp in the Sheikh Ajlin neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, causing widespread destruction and massive damage to the tents of the displaced, which resulted in the displacement of dozens of families.
Israeli aircraft also launched an airstrike in the vicinity of the Al-Khazandar station near the Al-Sudaniya area, northwest of Gaza City, while another strike targeted the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in the city’s northeast.
