DaysofPal- The Hamas Movement, Hamas, has warned of the dangerous new measures imposed by Israeli prison forces on Palestinian detainees in Ofer Prison, condemning the move as a continuation of a brutal and terrorist policy carried out by the Israeli far-right government in violation of international norms and humanitarian standards.
In a statement released on Saturday, Hamas said the ongoing escalation against Palestinian prisoners, including both men and women, reflects a systematic pattern of abuse that, it stressed, will not weaken the prisoners’ determination or resilience.
“The continued criminal escalation against prisoners will not break their will or steadfastness, nor their firm belief in their imminent freedom,” the statement said.
“Their freedom remains our promise and commitment, and our people and resistance will not abandon their cause, which remains a national priority.” It added.
Hamas attributed the intensification of such measures to international silence over Israeli actions, accusing the global community of failing to hold Israeli leaders accountable for violations and atrocities.
The movement called on countries and international bodies to take concrete steps to isolate Israel and exert pressure to halt the fascist practices inside prisons.
It also urged Palestinians, the broader Arab and Muslim world, and international supporters to intensify efforts in solidarity with prisoners and to keep their issue at the forefront of public attention, warning against attempts to isolate them or obscure their suffering.
Additionally, Hamas appealed to human rights and humanitarian organizations to assume their responsibilities and take urgent action to stop the escalating violations against detainees.
The statement comes amid growing concerns over prison conditions and treatment of Palestinian detainees, as tensions continue to rise across the region.
