DaysofPal— Dr. Bassem Naim, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, said in a statement posted on Twitter that the remarks of the international envoy Nikolay Mladenov claiming that 602 trucks had entered Gaza were “disinformation.”

Naim stressed that only 207 trucks entered the enclave on April 9, including just 79 carrying humanitarian aid.

Naim noted that Gaza’s Government Media Office has also rejected Mladenov’s claims, noting that the figures are inaccurate and misleading.

He added that Israeli compliance with commitments to allow in essential supplies since the ceasefire stands at only 38 percent.

“The lies will not hide the truth,” Naim said, urging the full implementation of the first phase of the agreement and calling on the international community to act immediately.

Separately, Gaza’s Government Media Office issued a statement dismissing Mladenov’s claims as “false, inaccurate, and lacking credibility,” saying they contradict verified facts on the ground.

The statement also raised broader concerns about international oversight, questioning the silence of bodies tasked with ensuring compliance.

“Where is the so-called ‘Peace Council’ in the face of daily Israeli violations of the agreement?” the statement said, adding that previous public commitments to alleviate Gaza’s humanitarian crisis have not been fulfilled.

Officials stressed that “distorting facts cannot conceal the scale of the catastrophe” and does not absolve any party of its legal and humanitarian responsibilities.

They called for urgent international intervention to address what they described as a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation.

Residents of Gaza continue to face severe shortages of food, medical supplies, and basic necessities amid ongoing restrictions and the partial closure of crossings.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, daily ceasefire violations have resulted in 736 deaths and 2,035 injuries since the agreement took effect.

The ceasefire deal was reached following two years of devastating conflict in Gaza, which, according to local authorities, has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians, injured over 172,000, and destroyed approximately 90 percent of the territory’s infrastructure.

The situation on the ground remains tense, with growing calls for accountability and immediate humanitarian relief.
