DaysofPal – For the 138th consecutive day, Israeli forces have continued violations of the ceasefire across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, carrying out demolitions and shelling in territories under their control.
Explosions and artillery fire were reported east of Khan Younis, while Israeli artillery targeted western Rafah in the south and areas east of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Shelling also struck the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City and the town of Beit Lahia in the northern part of the enclave.
A source at the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City said two people were wounded by Israeli gunfire outside the designated areas of military deployment in the Shujaiya neighborhood.
Over the past 24 hours, Gaza hospitals have received one person killed and eight others injured. Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, a total of 615 people have been killed and 1,651 injured, in addition to 726 bodies recovered from under the rubble.
Separately, Gaza’s Civil Defense said it received urgent distress calls after tents housing displaced families were inundated by heavy rainfall associated with a new weather system.
Rescue teams evacuated several families whose tents were submerged in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in the south.
The spokesperson for the Gaza Municipality, Hosni Mehanna, said on Tuesday that authorities received dozens of emergency appeals following the flooding of hundreds of tents in various locations.
Mehanna stated that the ongoing blockade has prevented the entry of rescue vehicles and essential equipment. Large volumes of rainwater seeped into makeshift shelters, compounding already severe humanitarian conditions and exposing the shortage of resources needed to respond to harsh weather.
