DaysofPal – Two young siblings were killed early Saturday in an Israeli airstrike east of Khan Younis, as Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire agreement with a new wave of air and artillery attacks across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip.
Local sources reported that Fadi and Jumaa Tamer Abu Asi, both children, were killed when Israeli warplanes struck near Al-Farabi School in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis. Their bodies were transferred to Nasser Hospital in the city.
Israeli airstrikes also targeted the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, according to residents.
In eastern Khan Younis, Israeli helicopters fired machine guns at the towns of Bani Suheila and Al-Qarara, while fighter jets launched three separate strikes after midnight in the same area. Another airstrike hit the Shuja’iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
In addition to the overnight bombardments, Israeli artillery also shelled the eastern outskirts of Jabalia in northern Gaza.
The escalation comes one day after Nasser Medical Complex reported that a Palestinian man was killed by Israeli drone fire inside the “yellow zone” in Bani Suheila.
According to Gaza’s health authorities, 350 Palestinians have been killed, including 130 children and 54 women, during 47 days of Israeli violations since the current ceasefire took effect on October 10.
Israel’s war on Gaza, launched on October 8, 2023, has resulted in more than 69,000 Palestinians killed and over 170,000 wounded, the vast majority women and children. The destruction is unprecedented, with the United Nations estimating the cost of reconstruction at $70 billion.
