DaysofPal – The Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of overnight and early morning airstrikes on Saturday, accompanied by demolition operations, artillery fire, and intense gunfire targeting multiple areas behind what is known as the “yellow line” in the Gaza Strip.
In Rafah, at the southernmost edge of Gaza, Israeli warplanes launched consecutive air raids on the northern and eastern parts of the city. Local sources reported that Israeli tanks also opened heavy machine-gun fire toward residential homes.
The attacks came after the Israeli army stated late Friday that its forces had been “working for weeks to destroy the remaining tunnels in Rafah and eliminate the fighters inside them.”
This statement followed the army’s announcement that it had killed six Palestinian fighters who emerged from a tunnel inside the yellow zone east of Rafah, in addition to arresting five others.
In Khan Younis, also in the south, Israeli warplanes launched a series of strikes on the eastern districts of the city.
Israeli tanks also shelled the city’s outskirts with several rounds. Local sources reported the sound of heavy gunfire coming from Israeli military vehicles in the Qizan an-Najjar area south of the city.
In central Gaza, areas east of Deir al-Balah were subjected to heavy Israeli artillery bombardment behind the yellow zone, amid intense aerial activity by Israeli fighter jets.
In Gaza City, Israeli aircraft conducted a wave of violent airstrikes, accompanied by heavy artillery fire east of the al-Tuffah neighborhood and tank gunfire from behind the yellow line.
The army also carried out demolition operations in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
Dozens of Palestinian families fled the al-Tuffah and Shuja’iyya neighborhoods on Friday after Israeli vehicles and armored bulldozers pushed roughly 300 meters into both areas, expanding the so-called yellow zone by moving large concrete blocks westward.
According to a report by Israel’s Channel 12, the army recently conducted operations in northern Gaza using “large quantities of explosives.”
Since the declaration of a ceasefire on October 10, the Israeli army has continued demolition operations across areas behind the yellow line. Families who returned to their destroyed homes describe a climate of instability and fear due to the ongoing artillery fire and shooting from Israeli military vehicles stationed along the eastern parts of the Strip.
Israeli occupation forces have committed hundreds of violations since the start of the ceasefire (October 10, 2025), resulting in 313 Palestinians killed, 760 wounded, and the retrieval of 572 bodies from the rubble.
