DaysofPal-The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas Movement, reaffirmed on Monday their commitment to the ceasefire agreement with the Israeli occupation, emphasizing that the issue of prisoners will remain a top national priority.
In a statement released on their official Telegram channel, Al-Qassam said the agreement “is the result of the steadfastness of our people and the resilience of our fighters,” confirming their adherence to the deal and its timelines as long as the Israeli occupation remains committed to it.
Al-Qassam said the Israeli occupation has failed to retrieve its captives through military pressure despite its intelligence and military superiority.
“The enemy, with all its power, was unable to recover its captives through force,” the statement said, adding that the Israeli occupation is now retrieving its prisoners only through a prisoner exchange deal, as the resistance had promised from the beginning.
Al-Qassam noted that the resistance had sought to end the war months ago, but the Israeli occupation “sabotaged every effort for its own narrow interests and out of a desire for vengeance driven by its extremist government.”
The statement further stressed that the Israeli occupation could have retrieved most of its captives alive months earlier but chose to persist with its failed military strategy, which led to the deaths of many captives.
Addressing Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, Al-Qassam said:
“To our free prisoners: Gaza and its resistance have sacrificed the most precious of what they have to break your chains, and we pledge that your cause will remain at the top of our national priorities until you all gain your freedom.”
Earlier on Monday, the Al-Qassam Brigades handed over the first group of seven Israeli captives from Gaza City to the Red Cross, with another 13 captives expected to be released later today in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.
Al-Qassam also published a list of 20 Israeli prisoners, all alive, who will be released today as part of the agreed-upon prisoner exchange deal under the ceasefire agreement.
