Daysofpal – Despite official Israeli military orders to halt offensive operations and maintain a defensive posture, the situation on the ground in Gaza tells a starkly different story.
Overnight and into Wednesday morning, Israeli forces expanded their ground activity inside Gaza City’s urban areas, accompanied by a series of powerful explosions that residents described as shaking entire neighborhoods.
Eyewitnesses reported that remotely controlled armored vehicles, laden with tons of explosives, were being deployed to detonate inside densely populated districts, raising fears that these blasts could level entire residential blocks. Red and orange flares illuminated the sky above the city, signaling continued movement of Israeli units and the ongoing destruction below.
Families still trapped in central Gaza City described scenes of horror, citing the use of quadcopter drones and relentless bombardment that has obliterated much of the civilian infrastructure.
Although Israeli forces appeared to pull back from certain areas, they tightened their control over key intersections and continued setting up military bridges in the eastern parts of the Gaza Strip.
In the latest wave of attacks, Israeli drones struck civilian homes on Al-Maghribi Street in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City and Khan Yunis. Medical crews later recovered the bodies of two people killed in Gaza City, while a third succumbed to earlier wounds sustained in the south of the Strip.
In Rafah, at the southern edge of Gaza, Israeli soldiers opened fire on civilians waiting for humanitarian aid. Medical sources confirmed that several people were wounded, including one with a severe head injury, near the Al-Shakoush area northwest of the city.
Throughout the night, Israeli artillery and aircraft continued to shell eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City, including Al-Daraj and Al-Shuja’iyya, while naval forces fired from the sea toward western areas. Palestinian sources reported a new airstrike east of Gaza City, adding to the devastation already visible in recent satellite imagery showing the vast destruction caused by two years of ongoing assault.
In the southern part of Gaza City, Israeli forces reportedly detonated car bombs that demolished several residential buildings in the Sabra neighborhood, leaving entire families buried under the rubble.
